Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Softify Technologies (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Mentorify mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. Mentorify is a mentorship platform; we collect only what we need to connect mentors and mentees and run the features you use.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated by Softify Technologies, Hyderabad, Telangana, India. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@mentorify.in.

2. Information we collect

a. Information you provide

Account details: email address, name, and your role (mentor or mentee).
Profile information: bio, skills, goals, availability, and an optional profile photo.
Content you create: messages, meeting bookings, goals and goal feedback, and connection requests.
Support requests: information you send us when you contact support.

b. Information collected automatically

Device & diagnostics: device model, operating-system version, app version, and crash reports, used to keep the app stable.
Usage analytics: non-personal product events (for example, which screens are opened and whether a feature is used) together with your role. Our analytics does not include a personal identifier, your name, email, phone number, or the content of your messages.
Technical logs: IP address and request metadata recorded by our servers for security and reliability.

3. How we use your information

To create and manage your account and profile.
To match mentors and mentees and power discovery recommendations.
To deliver messaging, meeting scheduling, goals, and audio/video calls.
To send transactional emails and push notifications (for example, verification codes, meeting reminders, and new-message alerts). We do not send marketing email.
To keep the Service safe — including automated moderation of chat content for harmful material.
To diagnose crashes and improve reliability and features.

4. Service providers we share data with

We share information only with the processors we rely on to run the Service, under their respective terms:

Google Firebase	Push notifications, crash reporting, analytics, and remote configuration
Agora	Real-time audio and video calling
OpenAI	AI-assisted mentor/mentee matching and chat-content moderation

We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers.

5. AI features

Mentorify uses AI to suggest relevant mentor/mentee matches and to screen chat messages for harmful content. For these features, relevant profile text or message text may be processed by our AI provider to generate a result. This content is used only to provide the feature and is not used to build advertising profiles.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and associated content as described in our Account Deletion page. Limited technical logs may be retained for a short period for security and legal compliance.

7. Your rights and choices

Access & correction: you can view and update your profile in the app.
Deletion: you can delete your account and data at any time (see Account Deletion).
Notifications: you can control push notifications in your device settings.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or India’s DPDP Act; contact us to exercise them.

8. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access-controlled infrastructure, and secrets stored in a managed key vault. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

9. Children

Mentorify is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located in India and other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
